Jessica Rodriguez

Jessica Rodriguez is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Art Atlas Peru, an organization created with an environmentally conscious philosophy, using only natural and organic fibers in the making of their high quality knitwear exported to many countries.   Launched as a socially driven enterprise, Art Atlas employs more than 140 people directly and 300 indirectly in Southern Peru. The company has contributed to the economic development of the Arequipa region by promoting independent artisan cooperatives and micro enterprises.   

Jessica is also the Co-Founder of the “Art Atlas Foundation” a not-for-profit association. The Art Atlas Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life for people in the Arequipa region by means of training and education in various aspects of the textile industry, and promoting women and youth entrepreneurship. In addition to training and education programs, this goal is accomplished by creating access to capital for women and young adults in order to start their own businesses. The Art Atlas Foundation also funds schools, food and water distribution programs, and many other programs aimed at improving the lives of people in Southern Peru.

Mrs. Rodriguez is Director of the Chamber of Commerce of Arequipa-Peru, and past - President of the Small and Medium Enterprises’ Committee of the Chamber.   

She is also member of the “Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas - Women and entrepreneurship” initiative and received an award from Mrs. Hillary Clinton in the III Ministerial in Costa Rica last March 2010 due to her contribution.
